I had a very bad experience with another moving company. One guy gave me a quote, I agreed. When I called the next day to pay the deposit, another guy answered but refused to take the deposit and told me to leave a message to the guy who gave me the quote. I was upset. It was Saturday, 11 days from my scheduled moving day. I searched desperately and randomly online. I read google reviews and called several companies. Either only in state moving, or more expensive, or leave a message and they would get back to me next Monday. John answered but he was too busy. He said he would call me back one hour later. He did. I told him my situation and the quote from other companies. He asked my house rooms and driving hours, then gave me a quote, 30% cheaper than the other company even when I told him how much others would charge! How honest and decent a businessman is! On the moving day, three young men came on time. They are very very professional and friendly. Tim is smart, techie, and fun to talk. Kevin is hilarious. He cheered us all during the stressful moving process. Carey was quiet but kept the moving smooth. Shortly after, it began to rain hard. The rain slowed the moving and driving. The actual time was two hours more than expected. It is totally reasonable and still, the final bill is lower than other companies. As an immigrant, I can't help thinking America is great because people like John and his team. They have high standard, high working ethic, and kind heart. And I am sure they will pass the value to younger generations. Thank you, John, thank you, Carey, Tim and Kevin.

I needed some large, heavy furniture moved at the last minute to be able to show my house, which is up for sale. Lighthouse Moving was able to accommodate me. The owner was even willing to come out and help himself if his other crews were booked. That was not needed as it turned out, but how lovely! The crew that did arrive was professional, courteous, on time and very good at their job. They made it look easy! Their willingness to help me at the last moment and to do it so well was truly a gift.

Professional services from the first call, great communication all the time, I had some special circumstances that had me change my move date the day of, they were flexible and worked with me to meet my needs. Helpers are also professional and friendly, I also had friends helped me, they all got along really well and I even had my price reduced on extra services as I ended up needing them due to how fast we finished. The owner is a very nice person, as a BIPOC I appreciate that even from my first call (getting a quote) he made it a point to pronounce my name properly if your name is unusual like mine you might be able to sympathize with me haha.

Let me start by saying that I didn't want to hire movers, but my wife insisted. I was very impressed; the movers disassembled and wrapped everything, taped the power cords to every electronic, and reassembled everything back at our new house. Money well spent!

I see one review said they were a day late. There isn't a written contract as some other pricier companies offer, but we had three days to move out so coming the next day wouldn't have been the end of the world to me. And I'm sure that's extremely rare. They were on time for me.

I was moving from one house to another about 2 miles away, and I knew I'd never be able to move all our stuff myself. Our previous move one year earlier and been with a big national company and had been a horrible experience. Just unbelievably bad, and so expensive. I knew I didn't want to deal with one of the big boys again, so I began searching on craigslist for ads. Of course that led me to a bunch of junk, but also to some legitimately licensed moving companies.
I narrowed it down to three companies and got quotes from each of them. In the end I went with Lighthouse Moving because the owner, John Hathaway, was responding to my questions himself, and the level of communication from him was much better than the other two companies.
I am not sorry that I chose them.

I tipped them willingly, and I'd use them again in the future.

Got back to me very quickly about a quote and availability. They were very friendly and worked with me to get it done ASAP. Communication was great and they were ready at the time we discussed. Very fast and efficient movers who got the job done quick, but were very careful and didn’t damage anything. They even finished up in less time than quoted! (Please don’t underestimate your move though! I am in the process of moving from Minnesota to Tennessee. My moving plans changed several times due to the unpredictability of my job and the schedules of family that could help me. I spoke with John a few days before my scheduled move, and he was SO incredibly reassuring and helpful, saying they could come help me pack the truck on the morning of my move, which was 2 days away. Due to issues with my truck, I had to reschedule last minute to the next day. John was so accommodating once again! And then, most unfortunately, I had to make the decision to leave large furniture items behind, and so would no longer need movers at all. John, again, was kind, empathetic, and reassuring, even though I wouldn't be able to use their services at all. I used Lighthouse Movers to move across town during a snow storm. Four movers arrived and quickly loaded up the truck. At my new residence, on the 3rd floor without an elevator, they brought in my 34 boxes of books, furniture and many other boxes. It was, I’m sure, one of their more difficult and back breaking moves. They did it cheerfully and without complaints and were fun guys to work with. I would definitely recommend them. I used them on recommendation by my sister who used them years ago and couldn’t say enough good about them.

There was a couple items that I didn’t mention to move and they called me to make sure it was supposed to be moved or not. The movers kept in contact with me to let me know where/when they would be.
